I have lived in Brooklyn since 1983, and the neighborhoods I know best, from having lived in each area for between 8 and 10 years, are Bay Ridge, Park Slope, and Sunset Park/Chinatown, and since two close friends moved to Harlem I have gotten to know the brownstone areas of Strivers Row/Central Harlem very well. Favorite nabe - Park Slope has it all, it is great for those who can afford it. Sunset Park, getting more interesting every year but not a place for "breeders." Central Harlem is gorgeous. Got kids? Can't recommend Bay Ridge enough.
